Election Day 2012

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior

1 Timothy 2:1-3

Whoever wins, pray.  Pray for the souls in our country.  Pray for the soul that is burdened with a position of authority as it is not a blessing, but rather a curse.  Pray for the world. Pray for your states. Pray for your cities and towns.  Pray for your neighbors. Pray for your family.  Lastly, pray for yourself, that you may cast your vote today with wisdom regardless of whomever it is that you want to choose.

Since this election season has gone on long enough, I want to cap it off with some humor and a little insight.  Enjoy.

As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

H.L. Mencken

I often ask myself, ‘Who would Jesus vote for?’ Then I start to think that he wouldn’t vote at all; however, it would not be out of apathy or disinterest, but out of perfection and light. As a miracle worker, I think he would, by the power of God’s teachings, the perseverance and the truth, influence in a modern sense whoever is put into office how to best serve his fellow men. One, like his skeptics, may find that impractical. But there is a message in that no man in power can slow the momentum of the will of God, and the miracles of his teachings will be forever victorious.

The Source

The big news out of the Democratic National Convention is that the original release of the Democratic Party Platform omitted any mention of God whatsoever.  What is being lost in the discussion is

WHY this is important.  There are consequences, both here and now, and in the hereafter.

The concept of Man’s rights being unalienable is based solely upon the belief in their Divine origin. Lacking this belief, there is no moral basis for any claim that they are unalienable or for any claim to the great benefits flowing from this concept (Source).

The present day consequence of this purposeful omission is that the rights codified in the U.S. Constitution, common law, and our founding principles as outlined in the various writings of James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, and the rest all point to God, not as a corollary or out of false piety, but as the sole source of our rights on this Earth.

By refusing to acknowledge this simple truth in their party platform, the DNC is asserting, by extension, that God is not the source of our rights.  Without this assertion, the DNC has opened the door to the argument that certain rights can be granted (and nullified) by government fiat.  What is considered unalienable (untouchable) by God-fearing citizens is now completely within the scope of government might based on the logical extension of this omission on the DNC’s part.  To conservatives and libertarians, this is merely an admission of the state of things in the Democratic party today.  If you look at what they say and the actions they take, you see in those that God is not present in their minds when rights are being dealt with.  You see it in how they treat the unborn, as mere medical conditions that can be eliminated at will. You see it in how they treat the right to vote, the right of self-governance, the most cherished of citizens’ rights, by stating:

I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make.

N.C. Governor Bev Perdue (D)

While the immediate consequences to the sanctity of our rights is not in danger – they are God-given, not man-given.  No man can touch them. No man can debar me or you of them.  As I have stated before, the ground below where I stand is safe for liberty and freedom because I believe that God granted those rights at creation which were codified in the Constitution as a barrier to government interference and tyranny.  But, as Solomon stated in Ecclesiastes, this is all “meaningless” because it is temporary.

I fear for the souls of the Democratic party.  I am certain that there are true God-fearing people within that party.  I am also certain that there is a militant anti-God element within that same party that is working to destroy the concept of God on Earth.

When I heard the voice vote replayed on the radio to put “God” back in the DNC platform (more on this in a minute), I can’t believe that the chairman deemed it passed.  The “NOs” seemed to far out-measure the “YEAs.”  And when it was deemed accepted by the delegates, there was a tremendous number of boos and catcalls.  This measure was not passed by the majority of delegates, but by the panicked politicians that realized that the Democratic delegates declared war on every Christian, Catholic, Jew, Muslim, Sikh, basically every single God-fearing man, woman, and child by failing to acknowledge their Creator in the party platform which is supposed to outline their specific policy goals for the upcoming few years.

Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven. (Matthew 10:32-33)

The Democrats are playing with God’s wrath here.  By not giving glory to God, they disown Him.  Draw your own conclusion here, but mine is not pretty.

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:13-16)

The Lord reigns,
    let the nations tremble;
he sits enthroned between the cherubim,
    let the earth shake.
Great is the Lord in Zion;
    he is exalted over all the nations.
Let them praise your great and awesome name—
    he is holy.(Psalm 99:1-3)

Despite the Hail Mary attempt to hide the omission of God from the modern-day Democratic Party by an orchestrated voice vote, the mask has been lifted for all to see that God has no place in the Democratic Party.   Moreover, by attempting this Hail Mary, which I am certain will pacify what some believe was an oversight or a mistake is nothing more than a political tacking to hide the significant hole in their proverbial armor.  It is a mockery of the democratic process. It is a mockery of the founding principles of this country. It is a mockery of the American people.  And most importantly, it is a mockery of God Himself.

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. (Galatians 6:7-8)
